'Memories’ is a piece about appreciation of those around us. Family, friends and strangers. Learning and growing with and from one another is something we take for granted. Whether those experiences are positive or negative they make us who we are. This generation lacks the understanding of the importance of our memories.
A huge part of the Aboriginal culture was to pass down memories throughout generations. Hunting, creating and gathering of Aboriginal people help keep country and each other alive and healthy. Here I have used vibrant colours to express a healthy country with a pathway of people to represent our ancestors learning about country and sharing knowledge. The two people are to represent the memories of yarns told while women and their young prepare foods and weavings. Remembering where we come from is very important, respect your elders and use every chance you get to create memories to cherish.
